This monastery was dedicated to ‘The Lady of the Golden Pomegranate’ and was founded by monk Ignatios in the 12th Century. A relatively small monastery which is also home to a church and museum, it is a peaceful and nice day out with lots of little historical artifacts to see. The monastery lies in the village of Panagia, which is an Ancient Greek title for The Virgin Mary. The monastery also produces wines from its very own vineyards.
